The Face Mask You Can Eat

My friend Lauren and I tried this last night. It is a face mask made out of readily available ingredients from your fridge. You can literally eat it... I did anyways. It is a mask made out of plain unsweetened yogurt, tomato and black pepper. I took the idea from two different articles. The first one was a yogurt and tomato face mask and the second was an article listing many everyday spices for beautiful skin. I put two and two together and created a lovely face mask as well as a new appetizer that I will be featuring on the blog soon. Here's how to do it!

For one person you'll need:
1/4 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt
1 cherry tomato, blended, crushed or otherwise compeletely mutilated (make sure you do it in a cup so you keep the juices)
1 tsp of finely ground black pepper

Yeah, that's it. Put all of that in a bowl, cup, whatever and apply to your face (keep it away from your eyes, the pepper will probably burn) for five minutes or until you feel like taking it off. There's no chemicals so there isn't any risk of a chemical burn if you keep it on for too long. The websites say to strain the mixture but you know what? I'm lazy and I don't mind sitting around with little bits of pepper and tomato on my face. You can do it if you want to.

The pepper creates a warmth and tingling on the skin that feels wonderful. As well, pepper boosts circulation and is a known deep cleaning agent-- a perfect defense against blackheads!

Yogurt exfoliates and moisturizes and leaves your skin feeling plump and moisturized.

Tomato is chock-full of anti-oxidants and this mask brings them straight to your face. It is known to tone, promote exfoliation and shrink pores.

If you have any leftover and don't know what to do with it then use it as a dip for sliced cucumber. Delicious.
