How to Wash Your Shoes

I have quite a few pairs of stinky, dirty, muddy shoes. I've been trying to find a good way to wash them. Wouldn't you know that vinegar is the way to do it? That wonderful, pungent, liquid with 1001 uses has one more.

This works for most canvas and cloth shoes as well as Tom's.

Put a few tablespoons of plain distilled vinegar in a sink or bucket full of warm water. Submerge your shoes and scrub lightly to remove loose dirt and toe jam. Let soak, rinse and dry. The vinegar will remove the foot odors from your shoes as well as clean them thoroughly. Okay how easy is that and now you aren't embarrassed to take off your shoes!

By the way if your shoes have rocks stuck in the tread or some heavy duty caked on mud, you might want to wash them in a bucket. This way you don't clog your pipes. Try not to throw it in the grass. Vinegar is actually a natural weed/grass killer.

I just did this with my Tom's and they're good as new!
