Homemade Tomato Sauce

Ever wonder what REAL tomato sauce tastes like? I guarantee you it's well worth it. It's also really easy: chop, drop, walk away. I made this the first time on Valentine's Day with Brad. We poured it over some fettucine for an easy side dish. Homemade makes such a difference so at least try it. You can make double and keep the extra in the fridge for a yummy fast dinner.

Bag of hothouse tomatoes (4)
1/2 onion
6 cloves garlic
Oregano
S&P

Get a pot and put it over medium heat. Quarter the tomatoes, dice the onion and garlic. Make sure you keep the juices intact in the tomatoes. Put the tomatoes and onion in the sauce pot and let that cook down with the lid off. Stir tomatoes every now and then. If they start sticking to the bottom lower the heat.

Get a small pan and put 1 tbsp of olive oil. Heat over medium to medium high heat. The garlic should be sizzling. Keep moving until golden brown then remove and place on a folded paper towel to absorb the oil.

When the tomato mixture becomes thick and the tomatoes have completely fallen apart season with S&P. Add the toasty garlic. Keep stirring. It should be thick and still have some tomato skin floating around in it. Pour over your favorite cooked pasta and enjoy.

This is seriously the best tomato sauce I've ever had in my life. You just can't beat it.
